Side Hustle Socks tubes help turn your ideas into finished socks!

Look through your stash (or treat yourself to something that catches your eye right now!) and decide what socks you’d like to make.

Send us your yarn, and we’ll crank it into a custom Side Hustle Socks tube.

To finish your socks the way you want them, you’ll choose the yarn for the heels, toes, and cuffs, adjust the length of the foot and leg to fit, pick the heel and toe shape you prefer, and make the cuff as simple or complex as you’d like.

We’ll need to know a few details so we can make each tube exactly as you’d like.

Should we withhold 30 grams of the yarn for you to use making the heels, toes, and cuffs? Or should we use all the yarn for the tube and you’ll add your own contrast yarn?

If you add separate contrast yarn for the heels, toes, and cuffs, 100 grams of sock yarn will usually make a long enough tube for either two pairs of socks or one pair of socks and one pair of fingerless mitts.

Do you want a 60-stitch or 72-stitch tube?

The circular sock machine can work at a fairly tight gauge and most people use a 60 stitch tube. If you think 60 stitches may be a bit tight, you can choose a 72 stitch tube.

Once you’ve decided on those details, fill out a copy of the order form (download the order form here) and send it to us with your yarn. We’ll have it cranked into a tube and on its way back to you in just a few days.

Every tube comes with our photo-tutorial pattern to guide you through each step of the process.

Cost is $20 per skein (approximately 100 grams) of yarn plus shipping. For five or more skeins, the cost is $16 each.

We have kits for sale on Etsy. Each kit includes a tube, contrast yarn, and a photo-tutorial pattern.

These make great gifts!
